Hurricanes History
The University of Miami, established in 1925, is a private research university located in Coral Gables, Florida. Its athletic teams, known as the Hurricanes, are funded through sports revenue.
Hurricanes Football
The Miami Hurricanes football program, established in 1926, competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The team claims five national championships (1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, 2001) and has appeared in 41 bowl games, winning 19. Miami is renowned for its “swagger” and pipeline of NFL talent, including legendary players like Ed Reed, Michael Irvin, and Ray Lewis.
