
Sun Devils History
Arizona State University (ASU), founded in 1885, is one of the largest public universities in the U.S. Its athletic programs, known as the Sun Devils, are funded independently through ticket sales, sponsorships, and media revenue.

Sun Devils Football
ASU’s football program, established in 1897, competes in the Pac-12 Conference. The Sun Devils have appeared in 33 bowl games, winning 15. The team’s most successful period came under Coach Frank Kush, who led ASU to two undefeated seasons in 1970 and 1975.

Sparky the Sun Devil
ASU’s mascot, Sparky, is a mischievous devil who energizes fans with his fiery personality. Introduced in 1946, Sparky has become an iconic symbol of Sun Devil athletics.
