Tigers History

Clemson University, established in 1889, is located in South Carolina. Its athletic programs are independently funded through sports revenue.

Clemson’s football program, established in 1896, is a powerhouse in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Tigers claim three national championships (1981, 2016, 2018) and have appeared in over 50 bowl games, winning 28. Head Coach Dabo Swinney has led the team to unparalleled success in recent years.

The Tiger and The Cub

Clemson’s mascots include The Tiger, a costumed figure representing team pride, and The Cub, a smaller version who adds charm to the gameday experience.
