Tigers History

The University of Missouri, established in 1839, is the oldest public university west of the Mississippi River. Its athletic programs, known as the Tigers, are funded independently through athletic revenue.

Tigers Football

Missouri’s football program, founded in 1890, competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team has appeared in 35 bowl games, winning 15, and claims two national championships (1960, 2007). Notable players include Kellen Winslow and Chase Daniel.

Truman the Tiger

Truman the Tiger, Missouri’s costumed mascot, represents school pride and energy at games and events. Truman is a fan favorite known for his engaging personality.
