Wolfpack History

North Carolina State University, founded in 1887, is a major public research university. Its athletic teams, known as the Wolfpack, are self-sustained through sports revenue.

Wolfpack Football

NC State’s football program, established in 1892, competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The team has appeared in 34 bowl games, winning 17. Notable coaches include Lou Holtz and Chuck Amato.

Mr. and Mrs. Wuf

The Wolfpack mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Wuf, are costumed wolves that represent NC State’s fierce and united spirit. They are crowd favorites at games and events.
