
Bulldogs History
The University of Georgia (UGA), founded in 1785, is a cornerstone of public education in the South. The University of Georgia is located in Athens, Georgia. The Bulldogs’ athletic programs are self-sustaining. Georgia and Auburn play annually in what is known as ‘Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”.

Bulldogs Football
Georgia’s football program, established in 1892, competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Bulldogs claim four national championships (1942, 1980, 2021, 2022) and have appeared in 60 bowl games, winning 37. Notable coaches include Vince Dooley, Mark Richt and Kirby Smart.

Uga
Georgia’s live mascot, Uga, is an English Bulldog who represents the team’s tenacity. Uga has been a part of Georgia football since 1956, with each successor carefully chosen by the Sonny Seiler family who owns Uga.
