Rebels History
The University of Mississippi, founded in 1848, is one of the oldest public universities in the South. Its athletic programs, known as the Rebels, are self-funded.
Rebels Football
Ole Miss’ football program, established in 1893, competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Rebels claim three national championships (1959, 1960, 1962) and have appeared in 39 bowl games, winning 25.
Tony the Landshark
Tony the Landshark is Ole Miss’ costumed mascot, adopted to symbolize the team’s tenacity and strength. The Landshark tradition reflects the university’s innovative spirit.
