The University of California, Los Angeles, founded in 1919, is a premier public university. Its athletic programs, known as the Bruins, are self-funded.

Bruins Football

UCLA’s football program, established in 1919, competes in the Pac-12 Conference. The team claims one national championship (1954) and has appeared in 36 bowl games, winning 16. Legendary players include Troy Aikman and Kenny Easley.

Joe Bruin

Joe Bruin, UCLA’s costumed bear mascot, represents the team’s strength and resilience. He is often accompanied by his counterpart, Josephine Bruin.
