
Huskies History
The University of Washington was founded in 1861 and is one of the oldest public universities on the West Coast. The Huskies’ athletic programs are self-sustaining, with funding generated through ticket sales, sponsorships, and other revenue sources, ensuring no burden falls on student tuition or state funds.

Huskies Football
The Washington Huskies football program has a rich history, with two claimed national championships, one in 1960 and a shared title in 1991. Competing in the Pac-12 Conference, the Huskies have played in over 40 bowl games, winning 18. The program has produced numerous All-Americans and NFL talent. Legendary coaches include Don James, Chris Petersen, and Enoch Bagshaw.

Dubs
The official live mascot of the Huskies is Dubs, an Alaskan Malamute, symbolizing the team’s strength and resilience. The current mascot, Dubs II, represents the second generation of live mascots, cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers.
