Everyone loves this time of year when all college football teams are undefeated. Fans of teams such as Purdue, Virginia and even my beloved Arkansas Razorbacks say, “This could be our year!” Like Lee always says, “Not so fast my friend.” I hate to burst literally millions of fans’ bubbles, but actually there are probably only seven college football teams that have a legitimate chance to be the 2025 National Champions. Which seven teams? Thanks for asking!

The seven chosen teams have all previously won National Championships in college football. Intentionally, in no particular order we selected seven teams that The #Statman believes has what it takes to win this year’s elusive prize. We chose the number seven because it is the number of completion.

We will start with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Notre Dame plays what many consider a much easier schedule than the other six team we will look at. If Notre Dame gets by Miami in the first game they will be favored in every other game they play. They take on Texas A&M for a rematch from last year in week two at South Bend. Then for the first time in Razorbacks history, the Hogs match up against the Irish in Fayetteville. On October 18th The Irish will play the once formidable USC Trojans. After that, the last chance even remotely the Fighting Irish may lose is at Pitt on November 15th. The #Statman is predicting Notre Dame to run the table at 12-0.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes are one of seven teams Super64.club thinks can win the 2025 National Championship. If they get by the Texas Longhorns in game one at Columbus in the Horseshoe they will be well on their way to repeating. They won’t likely be challenged again until they play The Illini in Champaign on October 11th. They travel to Madison, WI the following week which could be a small task since they have to play Penn State the next Saturday. If they are undefeated after playing Penn State it will all come down to The Game against Michigan to close out the regular season. The #Statman says 11-1.

We will consider the aforementioned Texas Longhorns next. The Longhorns start off with a bang in Columbus week one. If somehow they win that game they would still be far from smooth sailing in the always tough SEC. Texas will play a total of eight games against teams that went to bowl games last year including the Florida Gators on 10/4. Texas will take on OU in the Red River Rivalry on October 11th. The Longhorns will finish the season against four consecutive SEC teams that played in bowls during the 2024 season, the upstart Vanderbilt Commodores, the mighty Dawgs of Georgia, my Arkansas Razorbacks and complete the regular season against A&M. The #Statman predicts 10-2.

The Georgia Bulldogs will definitely be in the hunt for another national title in 2025. Georgia starts the season easily 2-0 before traveling to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. The next Saturday the Crimson Tide enters Sanford Stadium for what is sure to be a Showdown between the Hedges. The Bulldogs should roll without much trouble until they welcome Ole Miss to Athens. They will play Texas at Sanford Stadium on November 15th, notice how the schedule favors Georgia similar to Notre Dame. Georgia closes out the regular season on 11/28 when their rival, Georgia Tech comes to town. The #Statman has The Dawgs 12-0.

Is this Dabo’s year? I saw recently where he believes Clemson will go 12-0 this season. The Tigers v Tigers fight to determine The real Death Valley in game one will be a doozy. Clemson most likely will be favored in every game during the 2025 season. They will face a test in Atlanta against Georgia Tech on September 13th. Can Bill Belichick do the unthinkable in Chapel Hill on 10/4? A possible defeat could happen at Louisville on November 14th. Most likely if they beat LSU in week one, the Tigers will face the South Carolina Gamecocks ranked in the top 3 spots when they play their final regular season game. The #Statman goes 11-1.

The Penn State Nittany Lions can proudly shout, “We are Penn State”, this season. The Nittany Lions will be 3-0 when the Oregon Ducks roll into Happy Valley. Penn State could be at risk of looking ahead on 10/18 when they they go to Iowa. Their game of the year happens the next Saturday at The Horseshoe when they face the Buckeyes. After that, it should be all wins, however they will play Indiana and Nebraska at Happy Valley before completing the season. The #Statman says 11-1.

The seventh team took us a while to select. The LSU Tigers were the right choice due to a favorable schedule and Garrett Nussmeier. As mentioned above, LSU has to travel to the other Death Valley week one. Then they have to go to Oxford, MS to play Ole Miss on September 27th. Tough games against South Carolina and Texas A&M must happen before LSU visits Tuscaloosa to play Alabama. What could be a good game in Norman, OK completes the season. The #Statman has it at 10-2.

What will assuredly be a great football season is almost upon us. Let us know what you think about our seven choices to be crowned King of College Football by visiting www.super64.club
